Wow. Just... wow. I can never backstab a RED Pyro or flamethrower a BLU Spy ever again. (BLU Pyro and RED Spy, on the other hand, are still fair game.) The Heavy's initial expression is exactly how I reacted when they started making out.
What I really liked was all the references you got into this. Not only was there a Wile E. Coyote-style opener, but you even got Chell and a Headcrab Zombie in there. And nice job getting the "Gentlemen..." pic to fit with everything else.
Definitely a very cool game, except that Newspaper Clue #3 is unreachable, and I had to guess the number :(. And also... Mel Gibson? How in the Flash universe can Mel Gibson shift?! lol jk, the secret character controls just as easily as Shift Man is able to.
And by any chance, is actionscript related to Lua? I kinda recognized some of the "hidden" pseudocode :P
Haha, while I was typing this, he fell asleep. Definitely gotta give you props for that idle animation.
Definitely a very creative game. The simplicity of playing it (in terms of controls), combined with just how complex levels can be, not to mention getting texts from Past!you and Future!you, all adds up to one heck of a Mind Fcuk... the good kind.
One thing I gotta bring up for level designers: If you plan on using only one layer, set it up as that in the level options. Don't just leave the other layer(s) blank. So far, I've Sequence Broken at least three levels that had empty layers. Kinda funny for skipping levels in explore mode, but it just feels weird.
This is very fun to play, and you were right to try and release it at the same time as Portal's release. The ability to Think With Portals is very helpful in some of the angular reflectance puzzles. And the ending was brilliant. All I could think of was "404 computer hamsters not found" :P
One very important tip to "test participants": In the advanced challenges, if you get stuck, see if you can rewind the ball. Many of the puzzles don't make it explicit that you can use Space-Time Rewind, and it may be exactly what you need to succeed. Oh, and gravity manipulators do NOT return if you rewind!
Once you get the hang of it, it's fairly easy to play this, and oh so satisfying when you one-hit-KO a satellite with a 20m ice ball of DOOM! And the music is so epic, and totally fits.
If a sequel to Effing Hail is ever made, it needs just two additions: More things to bring icy doom to, and a free play mode :D
This is absolutely great. It perfectly portrays Super Mario RPG, the lip-syncing is pretty good, and your coin animation worked out great. And the addition of a few in-jokes from the game (like Bowser trying to kiss Mario!) made it even funnier.
Where are those darn Frog Coins?! I need 999 of them to get Bowser's Infinity Plus One weapon! (jk)
The ideal puzzle game has a schweet storyline, intuitive interface, hi-technical graphics, and really makes the brain work. This does all of the above, and even has a level editor as a bonus!
And I lol'd at the Take That about a certain detainment center...
This (and the original Karoshi) are two of the best games on Newgrounds. It's so fun to keep playing over and over, making little guys in business suits turn into Ludicrous Gibs. You should either make a sequel to Super Karoshi, or upload your other versions here.
Also, that is the best pixellated superhero outfit, EVER. And the levels that mess with the interface, or go meta... Epic lulz.
Overall, this is a great improvement over the first one. The graphics are much better (and make more sense with their collision fields), the loss of mass works better than an instant-fail condition, and the moon thing is helpful. I have only two suggestions for modifying it (or additions if you make another sequel):
*Moons should only be destroyed if they hit objects BIGGER than them. If they hit small things, maybe absorb the small things into their own mass?
*Also, two words: PAUSE BUTTON.
Aside from these missing things, it's a very solid game. And the camera-move thing helps a bit.
This is one of my Top 5 favorites that I've played. Easy to play, very challenging, and downright hilarious when a three-semi pileup happens right after the Level Clear flag. Just wish I could get past Level 20...

Is there any possibility of a Shift 5?
